Markus Bolton to judge national awards celebrating healthcare IT

Markus Bolton, co-founder of Shearwater Healthcare Solutions, has been appointed a judge at the EHI Awards 2013.  The awards are run by eHealth Insider, and are a national event dedicated to showcasing innovation and success in the UK healthcare IT market. 
 
Markus will be judging in two categories:  Healthcare IT Product Innovation; and Excellence in Major Healthcare IT Development. 

Before setting up Shearwater, a new company which provides expertise and growth capital to IT companies in the health and social care market, Markus was founder and director of sales and strategy at System C Healthcare, now part of the McKesson Corporation.

He has 30 years' experience of designing, deploying and funding the development of IT systems for the NHS.

“The EHI Awards have been really successful as means of highlighting success in using IT to deliver improvements in patient care,” Markus said. “I am delightful to play a part in this process.”
Fellow judges include Dr Maureen Baker, clinical director of patient safety at NHS Connecting for Health; Neil Darvill, director of health informatics at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Dr Mark Griffiths, chair of the UK Imaging Informatics Group, and Justin Whatling, chair of health at BCS. 

The deadline for entries is Friday 10 May 2013 and the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 10th October 2013 at the Roundhouse in Camden Town, London.
