Shearwater opens EHI Live

Markus Bolton, co-founder of Shearwater Healthcare Solutions, will next week make the opening speech at the country's leading healthcare IT conference.

Bolton will use his speech at EHI Live 2012 to outline a 7 point plan for galvanising NHS healthcare technology following the demise of the National Programme for IT.

Bolton will argue that the market today is at its most vibrant, with opportunities in all areas. He will also consider how Trusts can afford IT, what they should be paying for it, and will demonstrate how IT standards can be raised across the board without repeating the mistakes of the last 20 years.

Bolton was the founder of System C Healthcare plc. Together with Dr Ian Denley, his Shearwater co-founder and former System C chief executive, Bolton built System C from start-up to a leading provider of patient management, clinical and social systems, before concluding an £87m trade sale in May 2011.

Denley and Bolton's new company, Shearwater Healthcare Solutions, has been set up to provide growth capital and expertise to IT businesses in the health and social care sector, drawing on its founders' 20 + years of experience in the industry.
